Terms of Use
Last updated: 15.06.2026
We may translate this document into other languages for convenience. In case of any difference or conflict, the English version prevails.
1. Nature of the Service
PazAlone provides scheduled check-ins, optional WatchMate active sessions, a manual emergency alert, an audible emergency alarm, and notifications to trusted contacts (the 'Service').
Notifications are delivered by email — and on the Pro plan, by SMS — to contacts you have explicitly designated.
PazAlone is NOT:
An emergency or SOS service, nor a connection to police, ambulance, fire services, or any public authority.
A medical, clinical, psychological, or crisis-intervention service.
A guarantee of physical safety, rescue, or response.
Although PazAlone aims to provide reliable safety notifications, external technical and network factors can affect how it works.
As a result, notifications may be delayed, fail, or be sent in error.
2. Eligibility
To use PazAlone, you must:
be at least 13 years old (we strongly recommend 16+, in line with the GDPR age of digital consent in many EU member states),
be legally permitted to use such services in your jurisdiction, and accept these Terms.
You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable laws.
3. License
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PazAlone for private, non-commercial purposes.
You do not acquire any ownership rights in the App, its source code, its content, or its trademarks.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
use the App for unlawful, harmful, harassing, or abusive purposes,
send false alerts or otherwise misuse the emergency features,
add trusted contacts without a reasonable basis to believe they consent,
provide false or misleading account or contact information,
attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App, or circumvent trial-period and anti-abuse mechanisms,
interfere with the App's security, stability, or other users' use of it.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to features where misuse is suspected.
5. Functional Description
PazAlone provides, among other features:
scheduled check-ins ("I'm okay" confirmations) with a configurable safety interval,
WatchMate active sessions for short, time-bounded activities (Standard and Pro),
a manual emergency alert (red slider) and an audible emergency alarm with siren and strobe,
sending safety notifications and status updates — and, where relevant, sharing your last-known location — to the trusted contacts you have designated,
account recovery via email and 4-digit panic code in case of a lost or replaced device.
When you tap "I'm okay":
no urgent message is sent,
trusted contacts are not notified of an emergency,
the check-in is recorded as confirmation that you are safe.
A missed check-in is treated as a deviation from your usual pattern, prompting a notification to your trusted contacts — but it is not, on its own, proof of danger.
Trusted contacts remain free to decide whether and how to respond.
6. Limitations of Technology and Delivery
We use modern cloud infrastructure to handle timers and notifications.
However, external technical and network factors can also affect how notifications work.
Alerts may be delayed, lost, filtered, or never delivered for reasons that include — but are not limited to — the following:
the contact email or phone number was entered incorrectly, has changed, or is no longer in use,
the recipient's email server, mobile carrier, or device blocks, filters, or quarantines the message (spam, junk, do-not-disturb, focus modes, airplane mode, power-saving),
the recipient's device is switched off, out of battery, out of range, offline, factory-reset, or has revoked notification permissions,
the recipient does not see, does not read the notification in time, or is unable to respond to it.
PazAlone is meant to support a human safety net you have built, and does not replace official emergency services.
FallGuard fall detection only works while the app is open and the screen is on.
With the screen locked or off, it cannot be considered reliable protection.
Accuracy varies from device to device, so FallGuard is not guaranteed and does not qualify as a medical device.
Please test it on your own device before relying on it.
7. User Responsibility and Misuse
You are exclusively responsible for the accuracy and currency of the information you provide:
your email, phone number, panic code, and trusted contacts' details — keep them up to date as your relationships and circumstances change,
the technical state of your device — battery, connectivity, notification permissions, operating-system updates.
PazAlone is a secondary safety layer.
It does not replace your own judgement, your direct contact with people who care about you, or local emergency services.
Adding, editing, and removing trusted contacts is your responsibility; you manage them on your own device and account.
8. Trusted Contacts
By adding a trusted contact, you confirm that you are entitled to provide their contact details for this purpose, and that the person may be contacted on your behalf in an emergency.
You are responsible for keeping the details you provide accurate and up to date.
We are not responsible for verifying the accuracy of contact information you provide, nor for how your contacts interpret, ignore, delay, or act upon notifications.
9. Subscriptions, Pricing, and Refunds
PazAlone offers a 7-day free trial.
Any plan can also be paid annually; the annual subscription is cheaper than paying monthly — you pay for only 10 months and get 2 months free.
Current prices are always available in the app and at pazalone.com.
Subscriptions are managed by:
Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or
Stripe (for purchases initiated from the website).
Billing, renewals, and cancellations follow the relevant store's policies.
The current prices are always shown in the App and at pazalone.com.
EU consumers normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services.
By starting to use the App's safety features during the trial or paid period, you expressly request that we begin providing the service immediately, and you acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost once the service has been fully delivered for the period in question (Article 16(m), Directive 2011/83/EU).
For app-store-initiated refunds, Apple and Google policies apply.
For other refund requests, write to office@pazalone.com — we will consider your request in good faith.
PazAlone provides a loyalty bonus to its subscribers.
The exact terms are published below and on our website.
Among our first 10,000 paying subscribers, every hundredth annual subscriber — that is, the 100th, the 200th, and so on — receives one year of Standard for free, in the purchase order of successfully completed annual subscriptions.
The gift consists of one annual Standard plan and cannot be exchanged for cash.
This is not a prize draw, and the selection is not random; eligibility is determined solely by purchase order.
10. Privacy and Data
Your use of PazAlone is governed by the separate Privacy Policy, available at pazalone.com/privacy.
In summary:
we collect only what is necessary to operate the Service,
we collect location data only during specific safety events (WatchMate, emergency alert), never continuously,
there are no advertisements or behavioural tracking in the App,
we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Notifications to trusted contacts contain only what is needed to indicate the situation and, where relevant, your last-known location.
For full details, refer to the Privacy Policy.
11. Health and No Professional Advice
PazAlone does not provide medical, psychological, mental-health, crisis-intervention, emergency-call, or any other professional service or advice.
Content within the App is informational only.
Always seek qualified professional assistance when appropriate, and contact your local emergency services in any immediate danger.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
PazAlone is provided on an 'as available' basis.
Although we do everything to keep the service reliable, we cannot guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free operation in all circumstances.
Service operation may also be affected by external factors, including but not limited to internet connectivity, mobile networks, device condition, operating-system restrictions, and third-party services.
13. Limitation of Liability (CRITICAL — please read)
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PROMUR s.r.o. and PazAlone Lab shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the service or from its limited operation.
This may include, among other things, damages or inconvenience arising from delayed, failed, missed, or misunderstood notifications.
PazAlone is a supportive safety-communication tool, not a guaranteed emergency-call or rescue service.
Our total liability to you — where legally applicable — is limited to the unused portion of the subscription fee paid for the current billing period.
Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
14. Third-Party Services
PazAlone relies on third-party platforms and services, including operating systems, app stores, cloud hosting, email and SMS providers, and map providers.
We are not responsible for their availability, performance, behaviour, outages, or policy changes.
15. Events Beyond Control
We are not responsible for failures or delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), such as outages of networks, app stores, infrastructure providers, or natural events.
16. Modifications
We may update the App, its features, its pricing, or these Terms from time to time.
When we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide a notice inside the App.
Continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Slovak Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
If you are a consumer residing in another EU country, you may also benefit from the mandatory provisions of consumer-protection law applicable in your country of residence.
Nothing in these Terms affects those mandatory rights.
18. Jurisdiction
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of PazAlone shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Slovak Republic, where PROMUR s.r.o. has its registered seat.
If you are a consumer, this choice of jurisdiction does not deprive you of any mandatory right to bring proceedings in your country of residence under applicable consumer-protection law.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PROMUR s.r.o. regarding your use of PazAlone, and supersede any prior understandings.
21. Children and young users
PazAlone is not specifically designed for children.
The minimum age is 13, and we recommend 16+ in line with EU GDPR.
Parents or guardians are encouraged to help younger users decide whether and how to use the App, and to remain involved in their safety arrangements.
PazAlone does not replace parental care, legal guardianship, or professional help.
It is a gentle awareness and reassurance tool only.
